Jan.31: Rockford, IL. SEVEN YEARS IN THE MAKING. Some people in the area were skeptical about this years Indians. Thinking they may be one of the weakest teams Hononegah has had in years. Hononegah Kids Club bring home another 1st place trophy after scoreing 97 points out of a possible 100 during the Janesville Youth Wrestling Tournaament. Feb. 8: Moline, IL. Indians struggle only advancing two wrestler to the State Tournament in Champaign. Doing it the hard way Hononegah wrestlers Ryan Guffey 160 lbs. & Matt Dwyer 171 lbs. were able to secure a spot on the way to the BIG GAME by by way of wrestle backs Feb. 15: Chicago Heights, IL Nine Hononegah Kids Club wrestlers competed at the Illinois Bantam State Championships at Bloom Trail HS in Chicago Heights. Tear filled eyes from coaches, wrestlers, & freinds as head coach Marty Kaise makes an announcement at wrestling banquet that he is stepping down as head coach after 20 yrs of exceptional coaching. Kaiser coached five State Champions, went to four consecutive Dual State meets, and five consecutive Conference Championship teams at all four levels. March 21-22: Danville, IL Ten Hononegah Kids Club wrestlers competed in the Illinois Midget State Championships this past weekend at the Palmer Arena in Danville, IL.
